PTNG Consulting used advanced computational approaches for binding site prediction of our target angiotensin-converting enzyme, and ranked the potential binding sites for virtual screening. A virtual screen campaign was carried out using the ligand discovery database ZINC 20. By combining chemical diversity with the highest accuracy ranking, a set of 100 compounds was selected, which provided a good sampling of diverse physio-chemical properties and served as an excellent starting point to identify novel high affinity molecules. The consultants working on the project are world-class scientists who are inspired to learn the mechanisms of pharmacology and biology at the molecular level to make the most impact. We enjoyed a successful and constructive experience in retaining PTNG for our GGF PharmaDesign project. After 5 years of basic research for our DNA visualization algorithm we developed a software application involving reversal of the GGF algorithm to design proteins for biologic pharmaceuticals. We wanted a testing protocol to gauge the efficacy of our software to produce viable pharmacophore peptide candidates. This project was a complex, challenging assignment but PTNG managed all these challenges seamlessly and professionally. They were able to analyze our many software modules because key members of the PTNG project team were not only expert microbiologists, but conversant in both Mathematica and Python. We were particularly impressed with their approach to prepare a feasibility study that included a testing protocol for our novel software which was without precedent and so required locating hard to find datasets that were critical in demonstrating utility of our software. They also provided guidance on navigating the scope of the project to minimize costs and maintain focus. Overall PTNG have been reliable, supportive and friendly in providing highly specialized expertise and advice.
